Splicing

 Splice is a mettalic barrel on both ends if this barrrel ends of broken wire are inserted on either side  then barrel is crimped with crimping tool.

Splice comes in varieties. 

Some of them are pre insulated while other needs to a sleeve over it to avoid contact with other metallic parts
